Messerschmitt Me-262 HG III (1944)With its Me-262 jet fighter being a proven success, Messerschmitt subsequently proposed numerous variations on its battle-tested airframe. One of these was a three-man high-speed interceptor with in-wing engines: the HG III. Ultimately, this was little more than a "paper project," as no HG IIIs were ever produced.
